Product Review: Face Gel

Whether one’s skin runs to dry or oily, we all need a bit of moisturiser on our faces eventually. In a place like Hyderabad with the dry climate, a light moisturiser goes a long well, even in the summers. Especially if it’s a gel-based one which cools while it softens the skin. Let’s find out a bit more about the Himalaya Natural Glow Kesar Face Gel.

Free from parabens (group of chemicals used as artificial preservatives in cosmetics) Methylisothiazolinone  (MIT- a preservative used in cosmetics to prevent the growth of microbes etc) and sulphates (used for a cleansing effect in cosmetics) this water-based face gel contains Kesar or Saffron which is also known for its properties of reducing pigmentation and fighting inflammation.

Priced at Rs. 85 for 100 ml on the Himalaya website and Rs. 71 for the same quantity on Amazon, this product is easy to apply, light on the skin and gets absorbed quickly. It however, does leave a bit of a sticky feel which is best washed off. It is quite good on the skin after a day in the sun, a dip in the pool or for sunburns. But since a little bit is required at a time, the product lasts for a good while making it good value for money.

Tip: put it in the fridge for a more refreshing and cooling feel. Apply after a bath and feel your skin tighten and feel soft.
